As a leading manufacturer of innovative catalyst technology, BASF Process Catalysts announced today a new collaboration with Envision Energy, a leading global green technology enterprise. This collaboration aims to further convert green hydrogen and carbon dioxide into electronic methanol through advanced and dynamic process design. By integrating the expertise of both parties, the two companies aim to optimize the process of synthesizing electronic methanol from green hydrogen and carbon dioxide, paving the way for building a more sustainable energy framework. Through this collaboration, BASF will provide cutting-edge SYNSPIRETM catalyst technology, combined with the innovative energy management system of Vision Energy. Both parties plan to verify the feasibility of the advanced process design at the Yuanjing Energy Production Base located in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China.
The new catalyst developed by BASF is a significant breakthrough in sustainable energy solutions. This catalyst efficiently produces electronic methanol using green hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Methanol (or electronic methanol produced through renewable energy) is one of the most widely used and cleanest fuels. Electronic methanol has great potential in replacing traditional fossil fuels and their derivatives gasoline and kerosene, and can be used as an alternative energy source for road, sea and air transportation, as well as other industries. Electronic methanol can not only be used without changing infrastructure, but its inherent stability also allows it to be stored at room temperature and environmental pressure, and has an extremely long shelf life, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting a more sustainable energy ecosystem.
Yuanjing Energy will provide process design for electronic methanol devices, maximizing the efficiency of catalyst technology, while fully realizing the dynamic conversion of green hydrogen and carbon dioxide to electronic methanol. The commissioning of this device will be synchronized with the commissioning time of the wind power generation device. Yuanjing Energy will utilize its pioneering EnOS AIoT (Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things) platform to optimize the new dynamic operating mode of chemical plants.
Detlef Ruff, Senior Vice President of BASF Process Catalysts, said, "BASF Process Catalysts looks forward to collaborating with Vision Energy to promote sustainable energy solutions, which is a common mission of both parties. By combining BASF's innovative catalyst technology with Vision Energy's profound professional knowledge, we are confident in fully expanding the potential of green hydrogen and carbon dioxide conversion into electronic methanol.".
Yu Feng, Vice President of Yuanjing Energy, said, "We believe that only by partnering with global partners can we truly promote global green energy transformation and sustainable development. Yuanjing Energy's cooperation with BASF will create economically feasible and environmentally friendly green energy solutions through technological innovation. Yuanjing Energy will also continue to be committed to becoming a leading supplier in the field of green hydrogen, using green energy to help customers and partners achieve sustainable development."
This cooperation is the best example of the spirit of cooperation and innovation required to address the challenges of global energy transformation. By leveraging their respective strengths, BASF and Vision Energy aim to accelerate the application of renewable energy and contribute to creating a greener and more sustainable future.
